Vanguard Automation builds on more than a decade of photonics R&D at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and 20 years of expertise in high-precision assembly systems for photonic packaging. Headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, we develop industry-ready solutions for photonic integration, including machines, software, materials, and processes that enable low-loss optical interconnects between passive and active components. Since April 2024, Vanguard Automation has been part of Mycronic, a Swedish high-tech group listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. Our unique technologies, including Photonic Wire Bonding (PWB) and Facet-Attached Micro-Lenses (FAML), leverage advanced 3D nano-printing to increase packaging density, design flexibility, and manufacturing throughput.
